Learning Journey

  • Induction and Foundation (Month 1-3)

In the first three months, apprentices will learn about the role of the assessor, organisational structure, ethical frameworks, confidentiality, and safeguarding. They will also develop essential IT skills for assessment and record-keeping. These modules provide a solid foundation for effective and responsible assessment practices.

  • Core Skills Development (Month 4-6)

From months four to six, apprentices will enhance their communication skills and learn to provide constructive feedback. They will also gain skills in offering accurate information, professional boundaries, and referral processes. Additionally, they will understand various assessment methods and how to support learners effectively, preparing them to communicate clearly and conduct assessments proficiently.

  • Advanced Knowledge and Skills (Month 7-9)

In the seventh to ninth months, apprentices will explore curriculum lifecycle design and coaching and mentoring techniques. They will learn to design inclusive curricula, plan activities, and provide personalised support to learners. These modules ensure that apprentices can manage and enhance curriculum activities while fostering learner development.

  • Specialised Skills and EPA Preparation (Month 10–12)

As apprentices near the end of their on-programme learning, they will focus on implementing curricula, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, and managing personal development. They will monitor and evaluate curriculum implementation and support diverse learners. The period culminates in EPA preparation, with final portfolio work, knowledge test prep, and interview and presentation skills training.

  • End Point Assessment (EPA) - Month 13-15

The final three months are dedicated to the End Point Assessment (EPA). Apprentices will complete a knowledge test, portfolio-based interviews, and a project presentation. Regular review sessions will ensure they are fully prepared. By the end of the apprenticeship, learners will be well-equipped to excel in assessment roles and significantly contribute to their organisations. This structured approach guarantees robust skill development and comprehensive EPA preparation.
