Learning Journey

  • Induction and Foundation (Months 1-4)

In the initial months, apprentices will establish a solid foundation in key areas such as self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). These modules will introduce the core concepts and techniques necessary for effective leadership and management.

  • Core Skills Development (Months 5-8)

During this phase, the focus will shift to developing essential skills in operational management and project management. Apprentices will gain practical insights into planning, executing, and overseeing operations and projects, ensuring they understand the critical aspects of management.

  • Advanced Knowledge and Skills (Months 9-12)

From months nine to twelve, apprentices will enhance their understanding of finance and technology, learning how to manage budgets, financial planning, and the implementation of technology in operations. These modules will equip them with advanced strategies for managing financial resources and leveraging technology for operational efficiency.

  • Team Leadership and Performance (Months 13-16)

As apprentices progress, they will focus on managing teams and performance. These modules are crucial for understanding team dynamics, performance management, and leadership techniques that drive team success.

  • Applied Practice and Professional Development (Months 17-21)

In the final phase of on-programme learning, apprentices will concentrate on applying their knowledge in real-world scenarios. This period will involve hands-on projects, where apprentices will plan, implement, and evaluate management initiatives under the supervision of experienced professionals. They will also engage in professional development activities, refining their skills and preparing for the End Point Assessment (EPA).

  • End Point Assessment (EPA) - Months 22-24

The last three months are dedicated to the End Point Assessment (EPA). Apprentices will compile and finalise their portfolios, prepare for knowledge tests, and participate in professional discussions and observations. Regular review sessions with employers and training providers will provide essential support and feedback, ensuring apprentices are fully prepared for the EPA. By the end of the apprenticeship, learners will be equipped to excel as operations or departmental managers, making significant contributions to their organisations.
