Your Learning Journey

This programme is designed to develop the leadership knowledge, safeguarding expertise, and professional skills needed to manage services that support children, young people, and families.

Foundation and Core Skills

 Months 1–4

During the first stage, learners establish foundational leadership principles through the Leadership and Management in Children and Families Services module. They also develop effective communication and partnership working skills through the Advanced Communication and Partnership Working module. 

Safeguarding and Inclusive Practice

 Months 5–8

Learners focus on Safeguarding and Risk Management, developing safeguarding policies and managing risks effectively. At the same time, they promote equality, diversity, and inclusion through the Promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion module. 

 

Child Development and Practice

 Months 9–12

Learners explore Supporting Child and Young Person Development, understanding development stages and promoting positive outcomes. They also study Health and Well-being in Children and Families Services and develop research and evidence-based approaches to improving practice. 

Professional Practice and Final Assessment

 Months 13–18

Learners develop ethical decision making and leadership practice while preparing for the End Point Assessment. This stage includes portfolio development, a competence interview informed by portfolio, and a situational judgement test demonstrating their ability to manage services supporting children, young people, and families.
