Learning Journey

  • Months 1-3: Introduction and Core Competencies

    Start with an Overview of Facilities Management and an Facilities Management Strategy. This phase lays the groundwork by developing a solid foundation in the principles and strategies of facilities management, focusing on strategic planning and operational oversight.

  • Months 4–6: People and Support Services

    Move on to Understanding People Management and Facilities Management & Support Services. This period emphasises managing and leading teams effectively and understanding the integration and management of support services.

  • Months 7-9: Health and Safety Management

    Focus on Managing Health and Safety to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Apprentices will conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Months 10–12: Financial and Customer Management

    Develop skills in Financial Management in Facilities Management and Managing Customer Services. This phase focuses on budgeting, financial planning, cost management, and developing strong customer relationship management and service excellence skills.

  • Months 13–15: Sustainability and Environmental Management

    Engage with Sustainability and Environmental Issues to promote sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. Apprentices will learn to implement and manage sustainability initiatives effectively.

  • Months 16–18: Advanced Space and Supplier Management

    Mastering Space Management for Facilities Managers and Developing Relationships with Suppliers & Specialists. This period focuses on space planning and utilisation, as well as building effective partnerships with suppliers and specialists.

  • Months 19-24: End-Point Assessment (EPA)

    Prepare for the EPA, which includes a Project Presentation and a Professional Discussion based on a portfolio of evidence. During this time, apprentices consolidate their learning, complete their final project, and prepare their portfolio, engaging with mentors for feedback and final adjustments.
