  • Months 1–3: Foundation and Core Knowledge

In the initial phase, learners will establish a strong foundation in early years education. Key modules include "Supporting Healthy Lifestyles," which covers promoting health and well-being, and "Supporting Physical Care Routines," focusing on daily care practices. The "Safeguarding and Child Protection" module ensures learners understand vital policies and can recognise signs of abuse or neglect.

  • Months 4–6: Enhancing Child Development and Well-being

This phase focuses on deepening the understanding of child development and promoting emotional well-being. Learners will explore modules such as "Promoting Healthy Lifestyles Through Exercise," which emphasises the importance of physical activity, and "Emotional Well-being," which covers strategies for supporting children's mental health. Additionally, "Supporting Unwell Children" ensures learners are prepared to handle health issues in early years settings.

  • Months 7–9: Inclusive Practices and Legal Frameworks

Learners will engage with "Equality, Diversity & Inclusion," which teaches inclusive practices and adapting learning environments for all children. The "Understanding Key Legislation" module provides essential knowledge of the legal frameworks governing early years education. During this period, learners will also focus on "Health & Safety of Children," ensuring they can maintain a safe environment.

  • Months 10–12: Learning and Development in Early Years

This phase emphasises educational practices, including "Play in Early Years," which explores the role of play in learning. Learners will also cover "Learning & Development," which focuses on child-centred approaches and developmental milestones. Modules on "Developing Literacy & Mathematical Skills in Children" and "Developing Language and Communication Skills" will equip learners with strategies to support essential early learning areas.

  • Months 13–15: Professional Practice and Partnership Working

As learners approach the end of their programme, they will focus on practical applications and professional growth. The "Working in Partnership" module teaches the importance of collaborating with families and professionals to support child development. "Professional Development" encourages ongoing reflection and growth in the role. This period also includes preparing for the End-Point Assessment (EPA) by consolidating learning and practical skills.

  • Months 15–18: End-Point Assessment (EPA)

The final phase is dedicated to the End-Point Assessment, which includes an observation of the learner in a real-world setting and a professional discussion.
