Months 1–4

Develop a strong understanding of inclusive education, safeguarding, and the role of a Specialist Teaching Assistant.

Core Teaching Support Skills

Months 5-8

Learn how to support teaching and learning more effectively by developing skills in assessment support, communication, behaviour strategies, and collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.

You will begin applying specialist approaches within your role.

Not always. While many apprentices progress from the Level 3 Teaching Assistant programme, experienced Teaching Assistants may also be eligible if they already have significant classroom experience and responsibility within their role.
